  • Improve corrosion resistance
    • Reduce surface free energy
    • Reduce surface area
  • Increase fatigue life
    • Reduce surface area
    • Improve corrosion resistance
    • Increase edge rounding
  • Reduce bioburden (particles and microorganisms on the surface)
    • Reduce surface area
  •  Improve appearance – bright, smooth, easy to verify quality

  • Available for a wide range of metals including nitinol, stainless steel, and alloys of cobalt-chrome, tantalum, titanium, magnesium, zinc, and aluminum.

  • Uniquely, Lumenous offers highly polished surfaces with the option highly rounded edges or minimal rounding

  • Electropolishing with What-You-Want, Where-You-Want-It: polishing characteristics with engineered variation in various locations on the device.

    • Example: a highly rounded part with features that need to be sharp.
